TRIPIT – HOW DID I LIVE WITHOUT IT?

Honestly, I love this app!  Tripit

There is a free version and a pro version with more features.  It keeps all my trip related reservations and information in one spot in the cloud.  I can access it anywhere with Internet service.  All my travel plans accessible anywhere in the world.

Mobile Tripit App

There is a mobile app for my iPhone and iPad.  It syncs my account if I make a change on any of my devices or on my computer at Tripit.com.  No more trying to search through e-mails to find my reservations. When I travel I have all my plans at my fingertips on my iPhone.

Setting Up Tripit

You can choose the auto insert option to have Tripit automatically insert any reservation it detects in your e-mail right into your Tripit account.    However, I found this feature frustrating.  Every time I got a reminder e-mail  to check in for a flight or anything to do with my reservation it entered the trip into my Tripit account again.  I would have to delete.

I use the feature that requires me to forward all my reservations to plans@tripit.com manually.  This works perfect for me.  I can control what is going into my Tripit account.

It is very intuitive. It puts your reservations in date and time order for a trip automatically based on the flight times, reservation times, etc.  It also inserts a map from the rental car place to your hotel if you have those two booked after a flight.  Weather forecast for the cities you are visiting is on each date of your trip.

The web version has more features and is easier to use to set up your account and preferences.  Set up your account on the Tripit site then go download the free app to your iPhone and iPad and log in with your username and password.

SNAP EASY TIP:  On your iPad or IPhone it should refresh Tripit with any changes you made on the web or other device if you swipe the screen down with your finger.
