DAY 5 & 6 – PHILIPPINES AND CHINA

DAY 5 – BOHOL

We left Manila for Bohol after a wonderful buffet breakfast at the Hyatt Hotel Manila. Miss Grace, owner of Image Travel, knows how to get you the best hotels at very reasonable prices. Thanks Grace!

We flew Cebu Pacific and didn’t encounter any problems with our online check in process.

After arriving on Bohol we were greeted by the Bohol Tropics Staff as soon as we passed through the airport doors. They provided a free shuttle to the Hotel.

Lunch in the Restaurant there was great. I got the Rick Stick Noodles with shrimp and pork. Very tasty. And oh yes….as always here I got the heavenly Fresh Banana Shake! (For the record I had three before I left…there only day and a half.)

After lunch I booked a in room massage. 1 hr and 20 minutes for $12. Wonderful!

We hired a motor-scooter/tricycle to the crusade. It is a very typical thing to do on Bohol. At 8 Pesos it is a deal for the experience! I wish I had taken a picture!

DAY 6 – BACK TO MANILA

Enjoyed a leisurely Filipino Breakfast before heading to the airport for our flight out to Manila.

At the airport many of the group took advantage of the 30 minute back massage for $2..provided by the blind masseurs. It looked wonderful but there wasn’t enough time for all to partake.

Upon arrival in Manila we were taken to the TGIF for a quick lunch before our Manila City Tour. I highly recommend the Green Mango Shakes!

Tommy, our Filipino guide, did an excellent job with the tour.

The American Cemetery is sobering the minute you pull into the gates and see all the white marble crosses. My eyes instantly filled with tears. Being the Mom of a Veteran of War makes every cross real.

The final stop of the tour was Fort Santiago. This is the ruins of the fort during the time of the Spanish occupation of the Philippines.

Back to the hotel for an EARLY night….4 am comes early!
